Lots of performers end up winning nothing + if she declines attending/performing, there is a chance that she will be blacklisted

Some of these pre-meltdowns…maybe I’m just in a different headspace, but who cares if she gets any more accolades? She’s given us her best, timeless body of work, her best artistic statement since 2011, a full, FUN era, re-cemented her place as a cultural figure, and showed how her work isn’t encumbered by her legacy, but empowered by it.

 

Whether or not she wins any trophy is like…the least interesting thing about this past year. Let’s just celebrate this major artistic and cultural achievement! She’ll have so many more in the future, I’m sure.

 

(However, I would be hyped if she sweeps or gets just one of the main categories)

It's not really the same.

Record of the Year (ROTY) honors the entire production, (artists, producers, engineers), for a specific recording, focusing on performance and sound, while Song of the Year (SOTY) celebrates the composition itself, awarding the songwriters for the music and lyrics, making it a distinction between the performance/production (Record) and the composition (Song). A song can win one, both, or neither, as they recognize different creative aspects, even if the same track is nominated for both.

Truth. At the end of the day the music has been some of her best and that's what matters the most. Born This Way didn't win any and we still love that and consider it her best. She has won a lot of Grammys, I'm sure it must feel great to have your work recognized but if it doesn't win, she's for sure going to be happy for other artists that get to have their moment.

Agreed, and this is coming from a Swiftie. If he wins AOTY with GNX, it'll feel a little like Beyoncé winning with Cowboy Carter when she really ought to have won for Renaissance or Lemonade.

Imagine if Gaga won AOTY for Joanne. That's how I see it.
