If either wins, they’ll join Adele, Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Swift as the only two-time winners in the category. Carpenter won last year with Short N’ Sweet. If she wins again this year, she’ll become the first artist to win in this category in back-to-back years. Bieber’s appeal is wide, but he has won just two Grammys to date. He’s overdue for another. As one of the presumed front-runners for album of the year, Gaga has the inside track here. pynkri 305
I think our best chance is ROTY. Hopefully she'll win at least 1 main category.
PlastiscGuy 21,794
MAYHEM had a massive impact worldwide, it deserves more than some of the other nominees whose impact was solely in North America And I guess Golden, too... But that song sucks ass. PG. 13
Bradley 59,803
Okay, maybe I should lower my expectations for AOTY win... I mean if it took Beyonce like 12 tries, maybe I shouldn't be so certain about Gaga. 3

Lextyr97 20,473
I'm sorry, there's just no way any other song deserves SOTY/ROTY other than Abracadabra. 11
Ashley 9,882
It’s so frustrating because she deserves it the most out of that group. And I say this as someone who likes some of those albums don’t get me wrong, but Mayhem is miles better.
Levine 23,763
We'll be lucky if she wins a couple of them.

bim 637
Even removing my bias, Gaga did something truly exceptional with Mayhem that goes way beyond just being a solid album. She SOLD that record with every fiber of her being. No one else did what she did. I don’t have high expectations, hopefully she’ll take home a Grammy or two though. But at the end of the day, these awards have lost their prestige for me, especially with that leaked letter of the voter who said something like ‘I didn’t even listen to all the albums, and even though Midnights wasn’t her best, I saw her name everywhere so gave her the vote’. I’ve been a Gaga stan since day one and Mayhem is possibly my favorite era to date and that stays true regardless of whether or not she wins a Grammy for it.
gagzus 17,433
Mayhem deserves album of the year, she finally gave critics and fans alike what they want, she went back to her old sound with a modern evolution, she made a brilliantly produced record, she’s literally the lead writer AND producer on every song, all her influences are there, her vocals shine so much because it’s the only album where her voice is so unedited it sounds the same live. It’s her highest acclaimed album and it was a cultural moment beyond just the music; Her record breaking hit DWAS demolished record after record, Abracadabra being the closest song she’s ever made to Bad Romance (the song her critics long for her to redo essentially), Copacabana’s record breaking show, her and Bruno where THE Halloween costumes of 2024. There’s no reality where culturally Mayhem and Abracadabra dont DESERVE wins in the big 3 I’m sorry. I get the Grammys are on eggshells because people will complain a white lady beat out a black man and a Hispanic man, but I’m sorry is the GRAMMYs about the actual music and it’s culture or is it about the US because that’s all it’s feeling like now. Making wins based on US artists, US politics and US popular culture. Kendrick and BB haven’t been on world tours selling out stadiums worldwide, they haven’t had a career that’s still going strong 2 decades in almost. Like people don’t understand how much of a feat it is for a woman in pop to have a #1 single or album almost 20 years into your career without re-releasing old hits or being a sell out. Gaga is like one of the 4 women in pop to EVER do it alongside Madonna, Cher and Beyoncé 6 3
