Assuming it's the same audio, her voice is edited so weirdly on it This is true. I don’t understand why they edited her voice at all, let alone in such an obvious way. Setting her up for bad live vocals allegations.

CBT is very very firmly introspective and built around her expressing her views of Lady Gaga being her prison. There's no good or bad Gaga, just an exploration of how shackled and controlled she's felt by her early stardom and the negatives that came with it (SA/serious injury/mental health issues). Ending on an almost resigned/defeated note and accepting it. With the successor Mayhem narrative then being her not just accepting it but learning to love it and embrace it. yep I totally see that, maybe the way I said was not the best, it’s not really good x bad, I do feel there’s a duality element to it like there’s this black spikes character (who she references during 911 segment) and that white character in the white roses garden (who she references again in the “Tamara Interlude” and maybe the Babylon segment), like one’s struggling to keep herself “pure” and joyful while the other feels very chaotic and miserable because of all those things you’ve mentioned Maybe that’s a personal interpretation thing though
gagzus 17,287
As someone who had the privilege to actually see it, The Fame Ball is my absolute favourite tour she did. Her presence alone has never been replicated on any tour except for the countdown and silhouette intro of TMB 2.0. And her vocals were actually pretty sick! artRAVE is probably her best overall tour in terms of; the energy, the camp, the looks, the vocals and the connection to the crowd. BTWB was brilliant as well, but had a lot of let down moments. It was also her weakest vocally because of all the dancing. Although bringing the album cover to life was iconic. one thing I always HATED was how she always seemed to associated Scheiße with N*zism on her tours. It’s both subtle but also not subtle like the military outfits, the choreography being like a military march; even at Coachella she basically had a borderline SS uniform on to open the show with it I’m glad for Mayhem she changed it up into actual female empowerment and removed any connection to the military in it. Chromatica deserved a proper theatrical neon gothic stage and environment with a storyline based on the actual lore she intended, I’ll never get how she didn’t even so much as bring the album cover or that picture of her floating over the portal to life. The Monster Ball is great for the time but if she did it now it wouldn’t measure up.

Because after all why pay to see her in person for 150 for a potentially bad sitting/standing position miles away from her with varying factors that affect how you can see her, the visuals and the audio when you can pay 30 to see it for the best angles, the best audio and the best “version” of the show PLUS some behind the scenes stuff and the detailed interludes in a cinema or on your own tv. Movies massively started to massively effect live theatre in the early 80s for example, so I can totally see concert specials affecting live tours at some point if they become the norm. Plus let’s be real concert tour specials used to be that; special. Almost every artist now just releases them for every tour because they can. Beyoncé, Gaga and Madonna are the only live artists who still seem to hold that idea of the special being a special. gagzus 17,287
Oh also it was an absolute missed opportunity to not have the Tower of Babel be the main set piece for the Chromatica Ball since the Babylon/FW segment is a pretty staple segment of the show and there’s references to it in the fashion and the backdrop/interlude. The whole show should’ve been set on Chromatica in the tower
