bpmMonkey 7,378
Side note, but does anyone else feel like it's weird they are trying to make this event an annual thing.. clearly the intention is to bring in the same or higher attendance numbers year after year and it's a great business endeavor, but assuming they can replicate Madonna and Lady Gaga year after year just seems so boo-boo. I also think we had the discussion before on here, but there's only a handful of artists who can attract over a million people and let's be honest, it's the great faq divas saving people, hunting things - the family business

If they can get this done well on an annual basis and show that Rio is capable of managing the demand. It'll make LiveNation properly invest into its Latin Am division and then touring will be more consistent in the region. They will run out of proper legends pretty quickly and a Bruno Mars or whatever the straights are listening to these days won't attract nearly as many people, resulting in their investment to fail.. I think they had something magical and pretty special twice and now they try to milk it in most corporate minded way saving people, hunting things - the family business

Sneaky Oliver 22,831
Off topic but I don’t know if you guys know it but when Madonna came to Brazil, there was a huge flood going on in another state, in the south, and people (specifically conservatives) were disgusted by the fact that Madonna fans were celebrating in Rio while people were dying and losing their homes to the flood, they said the government agreed to transmit some satanic agenda on tv But when Gaga came, she was heavily praised for putting on a family friendly show, for wearing the colors of our flag and also the dancers wore the Brazilian soccer team uniform, the comparison between her and Madonna were inevitable because she was hated for being too controversial, the straights loved the fact she sang Shallow, it was a level of praise I don’t think Gaga has ever received in her own country So it’s not just about how many millions of people there were in the audience, her impact was HUUUUGE, many of her hits had reentered the charts, it was crazy
