himerosxo 420
Don’t Call Tonight is an incredible song AND one of the best on the album, but y’all are NOT ready for that conversation. 1
elegidadedios 2,629
I love the standard cover and I truly consider it's one of her best, if not the best one (the other ones for MAYHEM special editions are pure mid but who cares, those were just for the hardcore fans). Simply timeless. Would've make sense in 2010 and I'm sure it will in 10 years from now It's technically her best album and the best decision she'd make in marketing - but also musical growth, ironically - terms is to create LG8 in the same path. She reached high artistry with this one and the logical move shall be releasing a sister album to it, just to solidify the sound on her discography. May few additions here and there but god, this is her at its finest. To be honest, I'd be disappointed if she chooses other genres on the next record (I know she does that every single era but this time must be different) Killah is up there in her top 10 songs of all time Edited Friday at 01:14 PM by elegidadedios

DH is a career highlight. All her album openers are genuinely top tier.

I think one of the most interesting things about MAYHEM is how genuinely passionate everyone is about their opinions for it (compare that to Chromatica, where passion was more or less AWOL) For me- opening song or not- I personally like to imagine Disease an album track as opposed to a single, which somehow makes me like it more. My favorite part of the song is her deeper voice “hidden” underneath the main vocal when she says “screaming for me baby... like you’re gonna die.” I guess you’d call it a harmony (?) You can hear it really well in the slowed version. Sexy/spooky as hell (vid synched) YES TO THOSE VOCALS!! Those little details in the song that make it both demonic and sexy are all so fascinating to me. Her little grunts and screams during the second verse scratch like every itch in my brain. That guttural groan after the bridge leading into that ‘cure your disease’. The song is such a masterpiece. I’d not heard that slowed down version before! Thank you for sharing, I love!!
steven 6,269
I believe the second half of the album is weaker and loses its momentum after Zombieboy. It's like she started so strong and the other half feels a bit flat and less inspired lyrics wise. TheFrenchGuy 2,136
Blade of Grass is a beautiful song, I just think it's too personal / self-referential to be relatable for most people. The hate it gets is completely unwarranted. Die with a smile fits perfectly on Mayhem. I closes the narrative beautifully and acts as the perfect "end credits song". I don't think it clashes with the rest at all. Blade of Grass or even Happy Mistake would not work as well as a closer. Killah is ****ing amazing but it's missing some guitars and the drums should go harder to be truly great. The SNL version is absolutely perfect and makes it one of my favorite songs of hers. LD, HBDYWM and DTC are great. They don't bloat the album at all. CSTH is overrated. Sounds like Fever and it doesn't bring much to the album.
MACATL 1,806
Not sure how unpopular this is, but Mayhem is much better than Born This Way. I KNOW this is unpopular, but Disease is absolutely a skip. 1
Roughhouse Dandy 12,361
LoveDrug is immaculate and every tongue that rises against it in judgement I shall condemn This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss. 1
Auralegends 7,653
-MAYHEM is her best album to date -LoveDrug is severely underrated -Killah is overrated -SOAM and KFL should switch places on the tracklist -DWAS is more a Bruno song -She should've Released HBDUWM as a Summer Single

I hate all songs like BoG, just aint my vibe The gays know how to party

Sneaky Oliver 22,535
Disease overrated? This is beyond the threshold of unpopular, darling, it’s just plain wrong In fact, my unpopular opinion would be that Disease is incredibly underrated by the fanbase, it has all the elements we’ve begged for FOR YEARS Also I know most of us were disappointed by the second half of the album but it really grew on me, specially LoveDrug, I think she made the right choice to slow down a bit and fit these hidden gems there, otherwise the album would be too frenetic to listen in full through the years I think Kill For Love or another similar track should come after DWAS to close the album with a bang, the ending feels too slow and soft, I know it’s supposed to represent the end of the chaos but she could make a bop with a positive message just to wrap the whole thing up (also I think that’s why many of you dislike BOG so much, because of this tracklist issue)
TheMontebello 699
I don't have any. I love it. I hate The Dead Dance but this is not an unpopular opinion. You like the fat girl I got in me 🍕

That’s such a weird take because we have loved ballads like Speechless or Gypsy that are self-referential and not really relatable while BOG is ultimately a love / marriage song
