In a post on social media on Tuesday, the founder of the iconic underwear brand, Andrew Christian, announced that the company would be shutting down after two decades in business. He told Queerty in a recent interview that the fashion industry is facing new challenges amid the rise of fast fashion and the contentious current political landscape.

Honestly, AC had been falling out of popularity for years after it's big peak like 10 years ago. 
There's been a significant rise in competitors, often of equal or cheaper prices. The competitors had more variety and carved out a market share via deliberately targeting varied body sizes (even if some have retracted on this since becoming established) and often were better quality instead of that shitty super thin plastic nylon crap AC used. 

So I feel like this is PR management and they closed before they were forced to shut.

He failed to understand that his underwear only looks nice on his models and fit guys, if you don't have that exact body, you're not gonna look nice in the underwear.. so he kind of shot himself in the leg when he kept on pushing only 1 body type.
