MindTrapper 14
Aura is one of my favorite Gaga songs ever but Zedd should never have touched the already flawless intrumental (see the leaked snippet). I do agree with you, take the money and shut up. 1
CautiousLurker 19,561
A bit of a hypocrite isn't he, saying they didn't wanna sell out cuz pop music is cheap but wow someone of Gaga's league was interested Also he's wrong, and probably jealous Zedd's bit goes harder Edited 3 hours ago by CautiousLurker It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!
Obobo 3,498
They are psytrance artists, and that genre doesn't have much vocals. Since this was an already-made track, it probably sounded weird or "bad" since it's way off base from their usual work. Truly a reason why people need media training.

That can make sense, might feel really weird hearing someone on something if it wasn't intended to have vocals. Especially if it's the "ha ha ha ha ha" laughing part at the beginning or the lyrics about the size of an arranged husbands **** haha. Overall to me the 2nd verse is the best produced part and I think that was all Zedd right? I wonder what the royalties are like for them

So they willingly sold out to get a nice cheque then they come and trash her? F*ck them and their "artistic integrity" I mean, I admire their honesty and not bullshitting for the sake of it. They think it’s cool someone as big as her saw potential in it but also think the end result is bad. Is what it is. Tbf I think the demo she leaked is leagues ahead of the final version anyway. Yeah it was rude but also…better than being snakey and fake imo. It’s an industry of snakes and she’s seen plenty. as for it being cheesy, that’s a matter of taste. It’s intentionally cheesy. It’s just a question of whether you like that or not Edited 3 hours ago by Ziggy

You don't think saying that they don't do "cheap" music then doing it anyways for the money and trashing her behind her back is fake? It's not like they said "yeah we wanted to do it but we didn't enjoy the end product". They said "we didn't want to do it, she's cheap and her music is corny we want nothing to do with her but we did it anyways for the cash" Edited 3 hours ago by TheFrenchGuy

They said "we didn't want to do it, she's cheap and her music is corny we want nothing to do with her but we did it anyways for the cash" Welllllllll I’m of the mind that when I read “and then zedd called us and said she wants it” that it’s not like they had some in depth collaborative meeting about it and was probably more akin to Beyonce hearing the drunk in love beat that future demoed but didn’t make. Just a lot of business go between stuff. Now, if they’d actively worked together I think it would be snakier but idk I feel like this is just all very transactional and cold so it can’t really be snakey since it’s not like there was deception. Plus, in writing the deal I’m sure Gaga and Interscope were aware they were hesitant (i.e. not immediately keen) on selling the song which influenced the number given to them. So all in all I just feel it was a business transaction which is not like if someone like Garibay went on to talk **** about the track but more just talking about a business transaction they were willing to do bc it’s not like being a musician is reliable money but they aren’t personally fans of the end result and wouldn’t lie to say so bc while they are willing to sell their art to live they’re not wanting to lie about it either especially since the situation is so removed. That said, media training is there to say this where it reads less harshly in print but they’re music guys and none of this is surprising keeping that in mind. Omegahedron 225
I remember this. I was so crushed when they said it. I'd been a fan of theirs and excited to see what their collaboration would be like. I heard the leaked demo and thought it was amazing. I still like it. Though I do despise the vocals on the album version. Then hearing them trashing it ... yeah I guess they were honest, but it came at the time that everyone was thrashing her. I thought, and still think, it was a d**k move of them. They partnered on a song one way or another. You don't throw people under the bus like that. It's cheap and it lacks any style or respect, regardless of whether they truly thought the end result was garbage or if it would hurt their carefully curated image to be associated with Gaga during her most turbulent period. I doubt they've changed their view much, although given she's stood the test of time I wonder if they wish they'd been a bit kinder.
