I'd say it awards cultural impact more than anything else (or who has the most buddies in the industry), and in that regard, I feel like Bad Bunny's or Kendrick's records were the bigger talking points of the year. DTMF was universally aclaimed and its success has a very symbolic meaning in the current political climate. To me, this album is the best that came out this year along with Mayehm. I think the big win for this year would be getting one of the major prizes - Record or Album, especially. She's never won in the major categories before. When will you all learn these awards mean nothing in terms of quality. Bad Bunny winning AOTY will also be a political statement after the whole Superbowl discourse.
