We're just having fun speculating, what's the harm? This is Gaga we're talking about. She's the queen of symbolism and she pioneered dropping hints for the fans to feed on. So what if it ends up not being true, she never promised anything. There will always be people to complain anyways. Are we allowed to enjoy this discussion as a community or do we need your approval on every theory?

This seems fairly innocuous to me because it’s also technically a reference to PC, BUT she did also mention that PD deserved a proper release so you never know

Ngl I think TOTAL MAYHEM feels like it’s been more directly teased than TDD and the Little Detectives were right about that one: seeing it on BMI, putting two and two together that Gaga performing at TUDUM was related to Gaga cross promoting MAYHEM + Wednesday, her then subtly teasing TDD musically during that performance, putting together her going to the Island of Dolls was for the MV before the announcement etc). I get tempering your expectations, but I don’t agree that there’s no reason for speculation.

The only direct tease is the unused lyrics on her website. Even the name "TOTAL MAYHEM" is just speculation because she typed it out in all caps during that Roblox event. Yeah, she said it last night, but the phrase "total mayhem" is not uncommon.

TDD didn't have many teases. I think the only official one it got was the TUDUM performance. The BMI find was happenstance, but the nail in the coffin for that song was the leak and the rumors that she and Tim Burton filmed something in Mexico. Personally, I always believed that TDD was real because the evidence was overwhelming and a lot more concrete. However, I don't see that with TOTAL MAYHEM. Even the idea of there being a "MAYHEM deluxe" is speculative, based on the fact that she said she recorded a lot of songs during her MAYHEM sessions—which she does every album cycle.

I wish everyone could have the so what attitude about it but unfortunately this fan base very much will complain that we never got Total Mayhem as if it was promised to us, we’ve seen it countless times with things that never happened/never were going to.

But the fact that TDD didn’t get a lot of direct teasing is exactly the point: fans pieced together a lot of indirect hints that ended up being correct, which is exactly why I’m saying TOTAL MAYHEM has technically been mentioned/alluded to more times than TDD was prior to the lead up to its release (as the title wasn’t officially announced until the Roblox campaign, yet fans had known about it for months). Prior to the Isle of the Dolls leak, I’d argue that believing that TDD was coming was pretty far fetched (think of how many BMI entries never see the light of day, not to mention that the TUDUM tease was so indirect that it could only be clocked as an Easter egg post-release).

Also yeah of course this is all speculation lmao. It’s under the “theory” tag and every single piece of evidence has several caveats attached to it. I personally think something’s coming, fine if you don’t

I mean, we knew TDD existed in some form, though, because of the BMI find. Not everything there gets released, but we knew that she had something called "The Dead Dance." People were trying to say it was just the Abra remix she plays during the show, but there was no proof of that. At the very least, you could say that a BMI entry points to it being new music-related specifically.

With TOTAL MAYHEM, the very idea that it's a "Mayhem deluxe" is speculative. For all we know, TOTAL MAYHEM could be a documentary about the album's creation. Nowhere has she connected "TOTAL MAYHEM" to new music, and again, the only piece of evidence we have is the unused lyrics on her website. 

I mean, in the end, I hope I'm proven wrong because I'd love new music  But people have fallen victim too many times from expectations they themselves have set, only to get mad at Gaga for not "delivering" on them.

It’s not just the fact that she typed it in all caps. It’s because she also teased TDD in all caps in the same sentence, and that ended up being true. I think it’s fair to assume that wasn’t a coincidence.

The leaks around TDD were accidental since she filmed the video in public with external collaborators. I don’t count that as a hint, so that leaves us with the Tudum performance and the mentions of it on merch, social media, and other places. That’s pretty much what we currently have for Total Mayhem: a few mentions, lyrics from her website, a few hints related to Princess Die, and a couple of interviews where she says she’s not done with the sound of Mayhem.

I also think the soft rerelease we got in September, with no mention of it being a deluxe edition, is a hint that she’s keeping that title for something else. There were also rumored collaborations (Peggy Gou, Chappell Roan), but as far as I know, that’s pure speculation.

All that being said, yes, it could mean nothing. But after 17 years of being a fan, I know that when Gaga teases something, it’s never a coincidence. The things she’s teased that never came out were shelved for reasons out of her control, and this era feels  like she’s fully in control. So I’m hopeful.

it is almost confirmed that a stadium date is booked in Athens next September, and i was thinking that she might release sth more to keep the hype until those new dates. Maybe 1 in Turkey too?
