I was so scared for the album but I actually liked it a lot, yet not my favorite of him, and that's ok. It's obvious that there is an Enya sample and I was shocked when I pressed play on Afterthought and that Thriller/MJ bass line hit me Definitely my favourite on the album! He was very explicit about disliking the process and vowed to never work with a pop star ever again. He didn't shade or diss her, but he made it clear he wasn't there for the BS that comes with high profile artists like Gaga. On topic: the album is such a vibe, very catchy. His fan base is absolutely hating it but you can hear multiple Pop music influences all over this album. A lot of these people just want more of the same.
