They are both based/inspired on/by an early form of rugby, but thats where the similarities end.

although my knowledge of  sports is limited as I don't watch really.

Regular attendee of Australian football here (my team sucks but alas)

Australian football is played on a much bigger field and is much more athletic in terms of running and jumping. Most players have zero protective gear besides a mouth guard. Game is much more free flowing too. 

The stadium where they are playing seats 100,000 people.

It’s a big deal by Australian standards

It’s the one with minimal uniform so you get to see quite a bit. They don’t wear bulky uniforms like in USA football. It’s very tight fitting. :huntyga:
