DWAS, on the other hand, came out of nowhere. It didn’t have the same build-up or hype, and took a while to hit #1 which was earlier this year. For ROTY, I think songs need more time to establish themselves as "record-worthy," and DWAS might have been too early for voters to fully consider. But hey, what tf do I know? Lmao

I mean Shallow voting happened during her massive comeback, a career repeak. Whereas DWAS voting happened during a massive hatewave of everyone trashing her. It's not that hard to figure out the difference.

there is one major difference. when shallow was nomd there was a panel that picked the most voted by members and made their final selection. they likely bumped gaga

when dwas happened there was no panel at the grammys anymore so it was all pure votes. still believe shallow mightve missed a nom or two if it was all straight votes.
