I think she might not recover from all of this and I don’t think her career can survive a years-long hiatus fiance*, they were never married but i'm guessing she's feeling she's done nothing wrong and doesn't understand why the internet "randomly" hates her despite years of mean girl behaviour mother, what must i do?

princedeeblebleble 1,740
I'm sorry but this is kind of funny at this point Like how do these horrible, but almost comical things keep happening to her?! Did the nunnery really summon such a strong punishment from God onto here

Sepsami 18,909
On a different note, all this media attention that she has been getting in a negative way is honestly making me excited to see the tour in october. The budget is there, the dancers, the light, the spectacle. She really did come back from space rejuvenated, inspired and determined. 1

I don't care about her gender. I don't know male celebrities either. She is stupid and I don't feel sorry for stupid people. She did it all to herself. Dr.Luke does not bring any attention to him, so why would I comment on him? Edited August 18 by AiDi 3

Yeah her working with Dr. Luke is despicable but HE is the one that should be ridiculed. He absolutely should be ridiculed and ostracised. And the way to ensure that happens, is that people who willingly work with him and defend him are punished for that association. Lets make it very clear here. Katy has repeatedly chosen to work with this man despite everything wrong with him that is public knowledge. Katy has chosen to run back to him for her comeback era, desperate for a hit and believing he'd save her career. She actively chose to work with an abuser for financial gain. And she should be treated according to her actions. Claiming we should leave her alone because she's a woman is one hell of a ridiculous claim. She is a grown woman. A 40 year old fully developed adult. She is capable of free will, she is capable of morality. And she has used that free will, to actively side with an abuser of women - who preyed on young girls. Yes, more men should be held to the same standard. But it is ridiculous to suggest we should lower the standard, rather than bring people up to it. 7

I say gay men tend to ridicule women as entertainment and a bunch of gay men get defensive...wow, didn't think that would happen. I didn't say anyone should lower the standard. I'm criticizing how people treat women in pop culture compared to men, and how its misogynistic and people need to reflect on their relationship with how they criticize men vs women in pop culture. A man would never face this much scrutiny. I feel like Katy is facing more criticism than the "alleged" offender himself. That makes me sick. The majority of the industry won't work with Dr Luke anymore. The majority of his recent writing credits have been on smaller acts, failed acts or acts locked into his label via pre-existing contracts. The pop industry had dropped him near entirely until Katy went back to him for 143. And you're right to criticise that men aren't held to the same standard. But look at what you say your issue is with it every time - your issue is the criticism women rightly get, and you've chosen to attack people criticising Katy Perry for supporting the abuse of women. And i'll be honest - people who choose to work with rapists deserve more criticism than the rapist. The rapist deserves having their life destroyed for what they did. The people who see no issue with what they did and continue to support them in the hopes of financial gain are bigger scum - because they'd gladly hold the woman down if it benefitted them. They make the abuse possible. It's like Weinstein or Cosby. Everyone in the industry knew. And they decided that the financial benefits they got from letting women be abused by those monsters was worth letting the crime happen. They enabled the abuse to happen on an industrial scale, they created the environment which made the abuse possible. That is far worse in my book.

They definitely deserve criticism. But more than the rapist? Again, my criticism is an objective take on the relationship men, especially gay men, have with women in pop culture. I'm not empathizing with Katy Perry, nor am I focusing on that argument. I'm talking about misogyny. Get it? 1

You're saying that is misogynistic to criticise a woman for willingly working with a rapist to try and make profit.
