For ballads, DWAS is far stronger. And The Beast is not a ballad. It’s f*****’ music. There’s a difference. And I’m sick of the hate for DCT. It's the only one that is REALLY forgettable by Gaga standards. It's not possible ! And yet .... it is. DWAS doesn't belong on the album, it doesn't fit on the album, and - full confession here - I sometimes hit the off button after BOG. The other contenders were the aforementioned BOG and HBDUWM. Irritatingly, HBDUWM has grown on me. I'm not happy about that development because, let's be honest, the song could easily have been written by the Swift woman, and I can't be getting myself into situations where I'm liking Swiftian songs. The fact that Gaga is doing the singing is what makes it acceptable I suppose, but .... it's unsettling nevertheless. BOG is the opposite of a grower.
