It may seem it's too much but also everything is excessive in the US with that president of yours (thank goodness i'm not american lol). And of course context matters. People are being arrested and separated from their families only because the color of their skin. They made a detention center sorrounded by alligators. Yelling at a celebrity is one way ordinary people can express their outrage at all this scheisse. Sydney and that brand may not be directly responsable for all of this, but that kind of behavior is what encourage/normalise those atrocities and downplay the seriousness of the matter by making "puns" and things like that.
