This weekend marks the final opportunity for the public to view the two treasure hoards from Șimleu Silvaniei displayed together. Beginning Monday, July 14, the artifacts on loan from the Hungarian National Museum will be returned to Budapest. Simultaneously, the exhibition Forgotten Warriors and Eternal Adornments will close temporarily to allow for reorganization and curatorial updates. Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of the final viewing days. The museum will be open on both Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the last admission at 5:30 PM. In addition to the imperial fibula with onyx, ten other pairs of fibulae are part of the treasure. These are characteristic pieces of female clothing from the Hunnic era and were worn in pairs, on the shoulders. The fibulae with a semi-discoidal head and a rhomboidal foot are characterized by larger dimensions and are made of cast silver, being wrapped on the front with a gold leaf, in which precious stones are embedded. These smaller stones form geometric motifs in the polychrome style, characteristic of the Hunnic period.
