Might be the outlier here, but honestly, good. I think everywhere should ID people before showing progressively more and more explicit and growingly dangerous content.
I’m about as pro-s3x as you can humanly get without being a straight-up degenerate, but kids should not be accessing p0rnography at all, I don’t care, no f*cking way. I don’t use p0rnhub, but got curious the other day and went and viewed it for the first time since like 14, and dear lord, the way those women are treated and portrayed… it’s not even really s3x anymore because of how it’s done, even if they’re only doing missionary.
P0rn has never been woman-centric EVER, not even lesbian p0rn, but it just seems like that website in particular is home for videos where women are tools or props - and not even in a hot way! It’s really bizarre to see. There are dynamics and fetishes, which are fine, but then there’s… whatever that is. I don’t even mean this in an angry ‘feminist’ way, it’s just WEIRD. Best way I can describe it is a performative, soulless corpse that has been revived but can’t feel anything physically or emotionally - fakes physical enjoyment, fakes enjoying pleasing whoever they’re with. They just seem dead inside. Objectification, degradation etc etc isn’t even what it is anymore - it’s like these women don’t actually exist. I’m struggling to find the words for it. I’ve noticed it’s started happening with the men, too. It’s actually really unsettling.

ANYWAY, my point was that kids viewing p0rn was always a concern because of obvious reasons, then a few years ago it became very violent and degrading (especially towards women), and people were even more concerned about how it would affect kids - and it definitely massively impacted how my generation has s3x from the very start. Now it’s borderline dystopian and so.. disconnected. 

Point being, I think everywhere should do this. Like, can’t view a website without an account that can be anonymous, and proof of age. No idea how it could be done though lol. And I also think it should be done in a way that is shielded from general career background checks or required by law to be ignored if it shows up.  

The problem is that young kids still use p0rn sites - people I know with kids or who work at schools say it’s still what kids default to when trying to find it. That’s what needs to be regulated. The other sources, like social media, are almost always older kids who are probably already active or trying to be. And I think socials should also be regulated, but that’s another conversation. Yes, it’s down to parents to supervise their children, of course. I think it’s dumb when people say otherwise - be responsible for your children!!!!!!!
But in the same breath, it’s also kind of really f*cking weird that this highly explicit content is just out here, completely unregulated, there for anyone of any age to come across at any time. And I think that really needs to change - it should’ve changed years ago.
