Rioting just conflicts with my personal views. I don't want to sensationalize looting and violence, nothing against Doechii here 🙏🏻 With that said, what I actually appreciate about Gaga now is that if she were to voice out on such an issue, she will spent 5-10 mins explaining her view on a talk show or smt and not just give one-liner blanket statements during an acceptance speech.

It's quite different when discussing fresh political affairs. We must never have radical views and always understand both sides first. A great example is BLM. You don't see Gaga physically joining in the riots and pushing extreme news on her Instagram, firstly cause of COVID, so she's being very responsible. But also I believe it's because she doesn't agree with some of the things that is "allowed" in such riots. Like looting, destroying public property, setting fire to flags, actively causing harm to law enforcement, etc.. What she did instead, no celebrity would bother doing. She stop all promo and became became a student. She converted her Instagram to an educational platform and did not post any BLM material that evokes hate. She also hosted an intensive virtual discussion with Dr. Bernice A. King a year after George Floyd. You can say that mother has the brains for critical thinking, but I feel she's also very wise with her actions. During this discussion she mentioned something that stuck with me ever since. She said that we shouldn't coerce ourselves to see our world as colour blind. Instead, we should acknowledge that we see colour, and thus, treat people based on the individual. I see what you’re saying but you have to remember and acknowledge that you can’t really tell poc how to act/react to these such events and then use a millionaire white woman as an example of how to go about protest. What Gaga did is great for who she is and her demographic, and she has the star power and name to be able to do such things. Doechii is such a newer artist, and also a black women which 100% changes and shifts the optics of this entire discussion.
