However, those fans were left disappointed when she never took the stage. No, she didn’t bail on her performance, but what fans and attendees saw was far from a live performance. It was pre-taped. Plenty of prerecorded content gets used at awards ceremonies and live tv broadcasts generally. 

Its not at all deception. Its standard. 

Award shows in America aren't made as live audience spectacles. They are made for tv broadcasts.
