I'm still lenient on my Liberal Minority Government Projection.

Have they counted BC polls yet?

If a leader looses their own riding thats embarrasing

What happens if a party leader or even Prime Minister they loose their own riding? They lead without a seat? They ask another party member to give up their seat? I actually dont even know how it works

Based on how the UK does it in a near identical parliamentary system. There's no rules.

And I can't think of an instance where a PM has lost their seat/failed to win despite being a majority or largest party bloc.

It'd be monumentally embarrassing for any leader and only an idiot wouldn't resign imo.

I guess technically its possible. Mark Carney became PM without a seat because he was not an MP

But I agree its embarrasing. Also i guess it gets in the way for voting purposes which would be an inconvinience at best?

Things will flip around for a while yet, counting and reporting is actually very slow. I'm confident in the Liberal call, likely minority though

Yeah, but still scary that it can bounce that close to tie at moments. But also annoying that this nearly confirms a minority government which is always a pain

That said, one positive thing, early voting started when Liberals where at their peak in polling and I thought i heard them say that gets counted last? If so, a few ridings on the margin may flip Libera. Could make the difference of a couple seats

The PPC (Peoples Party Of Canada) has yet to win a single seat

I guess Trump turned off all the racists in Canada :teehee:

Yeah Carney was unusual, although obviously for opposition parties its not abnormal for a leader to be without a seat pending an election especially in 3rd parties.

Like its not mandatory for a PM to be an MP but the last time it happened prior to Carney in Canada the PM was at least in the senate. And the only time I'm aware of in the UK in modern history, the leader was a Lord who resigned and took up a spot as an MP via a by election.

The race is way too close for comfort in my own riding, my MP is Green and we love him so much, I'll be devastated if he loses. Pray for me girls :messga:

Currently Elizabeth May is the only winning Green Party seat :bradley:

Also the NDP back down to 9 seats. Absolutely tragic. Thats not even official party status

Canada gave a hard no the the Left Wing parties this election :toofunny:

Yeah thats true, i can see how it can happen a lot in 3rd and 4th parties

The Coleader of the Green Party has basically lost his seat this election. They showed his riding, he had like 1000 votes, the Liberals had 5000 ish :enigma:

Kind of crazy that each update for PPs seat the Lib lead isn't budging.

Still early and I dont know where's reporting within the riding and its usual party makeup. But it'd be funny if he loses

Well, the day of election polls came at like a 2% difference so im not surprised. The liberals had a bigger lead weeks ago but its since closed a bit

Also in Ontario (which is a very heavy weight in Elections as we are 1/3 of Canada) the Liberals are not doing as well as expected especially in Toronto suburbs. The votes have been very innefficient

Seems the Liberals are winning heavily in Toronto but then the Conservatives winning by a small margin in all the suburbs

It was largely expected at least some of the Toronto suburbs would go Red (in Canada Red is Liberal) but instead they are all blue (Conservative)

My city is going Conservative and im shocked. Were a city saturated with low middle class and even poverty in much of the city yet its going conservative :toofunny:

Nothing would be funnier :laughga:

His riding is kinda weird, it's the subject of a like, protest/ 'political experiment' if you can call it that, people flooded the ballot with candidates there are 92!! people on the ballot. Normally there are like, 5 or 7 or whatever. It's causing so many issues, especially around counting
