Gaga is very similar to Madonna in her release windows, nearly every 4 years.

She just seems to be productive and continue writing songs. Not all artists prefer to take long hiatus in between eras (e.g. adele, gaga)

I definitely am looking forward to new producers. But--and I hope this isn't a hot take--TTPD is a fantastic album and Jack's production didn't hold it back at all. It did exactly what Taylor presumably wanted to achieve through this cathartic songwriting and album release. It's like a stream of consciousness exercise in the best way possible. And both Jack and Aaron's production act like the wrapper to bring everything together. I truly believe if Taylor didn't have such mass media coverage and attention TTPD would have been received much more favorably (like Midnights or even Folk/more level). But she was just too overexposed. Genuinely one of my favorite albums of 2024. Even though I overplayed the hell out of it, going back to her earlier works (pre-Folklore) feels like a step down songwriting-wise (depends on the track of course). But TTPD just feels like a moderate but noticeable evolution in her discography.

As Gaga once said, "My fans don't care and neither do I" We keep enjoying her music, let people be and enjoy stuff. Period. I don't care perse but she is constantly drowning out the competition, it just gets tiring for the average listener. She is EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME. So yeah "give it a rest" is a very understandable statement.. Her last album had 31 damn tracks, the vast majority of them being very lukewarm and uninspired. I partly think it's because she's 35, which is apparently her "scary age" as she said in her documentary that most female artists have to work themselves to death only to be thrown in the trash as soon as they hit 35. So now she's at that age, she feels like she has to do another big push to get her over this scary age and will be a good omen going into the next stage of her career. Like, if she can be successful at 35, she can continue to do it every year after that, basically. I just wish she would get one big honest to God flop to make her realise that it's time to take a break and recharge, that she pushed the public's patience with her constant presence too long. For a lot of us, her music is forced on us, even if we aren't seeking it out. And she dominates the charts to the point where it stops other artists getting rightful spots for weeks, maybe even months. If she was releasing at the same time as Gaga, she wouldn't stand a chance of being talked about more, Taylor overthrows anyone who's having a moment. When TTPD was released, it was all the industry talked about for months, it's so tiresome that every 2 years or so, we're subjected to this oversaturation of her and that doesn't even include the re-releases. Most artists who are dominating the charts right now are totally avoidable, Taylor isn't. I have no problem with artists releasing frequently if it's not an EVENT every time. But it seems like we never get a break from Taylor, whether it's music, performances, tours, love life speculation, we're always hearing something about her. She is an omnipresent force in the music industry and this naturally leads to a massive resentment towards her in the long run. And it's entirely natural to complain about something you're always being subjected to against your will. 100% this. I just wish pop culture would stop pretending she is the second coming of Christ when it comes to music.

elegidadedios 1,854
I couldn't care less tbh. But I'm glad for her fans and everyone in general who likes keeping in track with her music. I really really liked 1989 and reputation when they came out. Not that interested in the direction she took with Lover and since then I totally lost interest in her, even though I listened to TTPD once (I do get the point of releasing 30 songs for it makes sense but still...) I understand and kinda agree with the points some of you made about her releasing so many albums as I prefer artists like Gaga - 7 albums in 17 years -, simply because it ressembles legendary acts when it comes to keeping tight their releases idk if that makes sense (not saying Taylor ain't one)

Be for real, TTPD felt like a long ass song lasting 2 hours. Again, that is not necessarily bad, that album is still good for what it was meant to be but let's not pretend it brang something new to the table. She's got way better projects. And after releasing a 31 tracks album, I don't see what else she has to offer next year (assuming her 12th album would be released by that time). Artistically - and not commercially, as it'll obviously do wonders - would be much more interesting to wait and release it the next couple of years making a 4 years or so space in between Edited April 14 by elegidadedios
