27monster27 13,092
The lead single from the album, WAP, was released almost five years ago in 2020. She has had one single per year from this album from 2020-2024 with the 2025 single still pending. She honestly should just release anything at this point. The best time would've been early 2021 with Up to get strong success with the song and following the WAP hype. Now she just needs to release anything to get this album out of the way. he/him/his
StrawberryBlond 14,832
I still don't know how the massive success of WAP and Up didn't inspire her to complete the album there and then. How does producing two #1 singles not spur you on to do so? Even if it got rushed and it was totally bad, with two #1's on it, the album's already a success. I don't know why her label aren't pushing her more. It just seems that unless she gets a massive smash, she has no desire to put the album out. I really thought she was the next big rap sensation but every year that she fails to put out this album is making her more irrelevant. It'll be so sad if this delay ends up killing her career as she's the best current female rapper (I know, not everyone agrees but yeah). She been busy riding stick and breeding babies Seriously tho, I like the fact that she has the power to not release the second album, especially after winning best hip hop album at the Grammys the pressure must be tough. But she might as well lach on the success of Doechii and Doja to make a comeback this year.

Bronco 11,019
I do wonder how much is her not getting it done and how much is actually her label going "this is ****, you have no hit tracks, go write more"

My guess is when WAP and Up dropped, they didn't even have a complete tracklist yet. I mean, look at the following singles: Hot ****, Bongos, Enough (Miami)... These are not proper album singles. These are just droplets artists released between the eras for fun. None of them shared a clear direction, and neither did they sound good. If she really drops the album with two top ten singles featuring filler mess. She'll get shredded into pieces by her own communities (African American and Hip hop) whether we like her or not. And even if she survived the sophomore, can she survive the third release? I think those droplets I just mentioned are a clear sign that's She: A. Currently disinterested in music due to pressure, family and others. B. Is no longer a priority for the label because of point A and the poor quality singles. C. Just an entertaining Hip hop personality who had no idea what to do next. Like I said, she definitely cared about the reception as she regularly talked about the pressure she felt for her sophomore album that kept getting delayed. And it's probably best for her to just keep delaying it and stay low considering she's beefing with one, if not the most notorious fanbase. Also we have Doechii now Not saying we can't have multiple highly accomplished female figures, but like I said, I really don't think Cardi knows what to do next. Vicixs 3,465
I think she’s applying too much pressure on herself to top her debut, which is always a **** mindset. She won’t be able to release a sophomore album until she learns to just have fun with it and disregard the (potential) success of the album. Religion is a product to sell. It's that she's missed so many opportunities at this point that her and her label will say "we should have made x single the lead and made an album around that time". She's alienated a lot of her core fanbase because of the meltdowns she has had. She's antagonized every single rap girl by now as well. And she continues to rap about being at the top of her game on records that have debut at 50 on the hot 100 and then fall off the week after. She continues to say "it's coming this year" and this is like her 7th year now where she's said she'll release her sophomore album "this year" when it should have initially been 2019. Nobody cares anymore.
