They should be pulling similar amounts. Still, Chromatica had tour bundles. For example if I buy a T-shirt for Chromatica Ball from Gaga's shop, it may also be accompanied with a free digital download of the album, even if we didn't buy the album before. Artists usually use these tactics to inflate the sales numbers of the album. Chromatica had this, that's why it debuted with 273k. Now, Billboard had stopped considering tour bundles and Mayhem Ball is also not announced yet. So without tour bundles, Mayhem will debut with 200-225k units, which is good. I understand the tour bundles. Its another tactic and its no longer allowed bu Billboard. That doesn’t excuse Mayhem doing way less (20% less), because they went all in with the promo this time around. Mayhem may not have tour bundles, but it had a COLOSAL #1 hit single, a grammy win, it made Gaga the second most streamed artist on spotify (and where are those new listeners?????), Disease was praised by fans and critics, Abra was a cute top 15 hit, and the rollout was executed to perfection with massive promo slots like SNL, Hot Ones, ASMR W magazine, different vinyls versions, Vanity Fair Interviews, etc. All of this should’ve matched the tour bundle effect. Ya’ll can keep pretending 200k is a great payback after doing all that, but I will die on this hill. Even with massive promo, Gaga tends to fall flat in the US. Today pure sales is almost dead and Mayhem will have to depend on streaming for more units. Although Gaga is in her peak in streaming era, she is not really as massive as the new and fresh pop stars like Sabrina and Billie or male artists like Kendrick Lamar or Weeknd in the streaming. So you can't expect her to their numbers. However, HDD sometimes underestimates album sales to play safe. Maybe Mayhem can even debut within 240k seeing that its streams are more stable than Chromatica.

Hope HDD low balled it cause its lukewarm at best.
