What are your thoughts on Mayhem?

I think the album is sheer perfection.  The best album since Blue by Joni Mitchell released in 1971.  Doing the Mayhem megarate I'm having trouble finding any track that's not a 10.  Seriously.

Ehhh, not for me (yet), my least favorite album so far and Chromatica was my least fave before so I wanna cry  I still LOVE the three singles and Harlequin so I’m good

It wasn’t as diverse as I thought and I don’t hear the chaos at all, I thought Joanne was more chaotic  Like, give us Folie À Deux right after Abracadabra

thank you, I really adore how much you know about music, u experienced a lot of albums and songs, decades of music so reading your opinion about the album gives me the final approval that Mayhem is her best album.

It’s different than I expected, but it’s exactly what I needed!! So unbelievably obsessed. It may be top 2 Gaga albums for me. 10/10

Okay but making an album flow seamlessly from Disease to DWAS in a way that is actually cohesive is a magic trick tbh, it weaves seamlessly through so many genres. Pop to rock to funk to disco to 80s-pop/rock to crooner ballads. That’s pretty chaotic to me

I think Gaga should be very proud of Mayhem, and she does seem to be very happy.   I really hope that Mayhem becomes held in very high regard like Joni Mitchell's Blue.  For those unfamiliar with Blue, here is a quote from Wikipedia:  

"Today, Blue is generally regarded by music critics as one of the greatest albums of all time, with Mitchell's songwriting and compositions being frequent areas of praise. A few years ago a megarate of Blue was done on GGD.  I think I gave every track a 10.  I may end up doing that with Mayhem.

It is a really really good album and I think the Beast and Blade of Grass are 2 of the best songs she ever wrote, The Beast reception is very divided because the song is pretty challenging, it's not very Gaga in it's core.

it's amazing but it's MUCH more funkier and disco-ier than I imagined. If I were Gaga I would've made it a tad bit more darkpop-y but it's still amazing!!!!

I also can't believe that everyone is still hating on dwas and now they hate hbduwm because its popular now like grow up seriously

i would’ve liked it more if the 2 singles and aesthetics weren’t misleading, but it’s grown on me ngl tho i still think songs like killa & how bad do u want me are garbage and some of the worst songs in her career

I really like it, there’s a few things I’d change but it’s a great album. I’m still warming to it but I think it will come in time

I'll probably use it more than Joanne so that's something. 

It also makes Chromatica feel more grande and high-budget if that's an accomplishment...

Totally agree about The Beast and Blade Of Grass.  And both are so powerful with the strong slow off beats.  For my 11 on megarate I'm torn between those songs and How Bad Do U Want Me.  I love the complexity of the layering of the vocals during the last minute of How Bad Do U Want Me.

I'm team The Beast, it such a good song and parallel to Monster in the story, Monster is about being a victim of SA while The Beast is about controling the situation the beast, being liberated from the "monster" chains and liberated sexually.

I love it. My favorites have been Born This Way and Joanne for a long time, but this might surpass them in the long run for me! 
 

I didn’t love Chromatica as much so I’m glad this gives me more of a feeling like my other faves did/do!
