Omegahedron 170
I've just realised that Abracadabra supposedly has sampled Spellbound by Siouxie and the Banshees. https://www.officialcharts.com/songs/lady-gaga-abracadabra/ Siouxsie (Susan Ballion), Budgie (Peter Edward Clark), John McGeoch and Steven Severin are also credited as writers on the track. Genius for them to do so (I ADORE Spellbound) but I am struggling to pinpoint where the sample is. Anyone with keener hearing?

Bronco 8,029
Its the melody of the pre-chorus. "Like a poem said to a lady in red" "From the cradle bars comes a beckoning voice"
Omegahedron 170
Ah gotcha. I was looking for a literal sample, not just the melody. Still a great reference, especially seeing as she's going for a goth aesthetic.
rinasawachanta 2,796
Strange that this has not yet been commented on this site. Indeed, Abracadabra takes up part of the melody of Spellbound. I saw the credits for the song before the track was released and it got me really hyped. Perfect decision, sonically and thematically coherent 🪄

Ladle Ghoulash 18,341
Also, for what it’s worth: it would technically be an interpolation and not a sample We have forgotten our public MANNERS

Either that or there's a subtler interpolation that we haven't pinpointed like the interpolation of It's My House on Replay.

XxBones 1,065
Where are people finding the credits? I do hear it in one part but it’s so subtle and definitely an interpolation. It’s mainly the beginning of spellbound and the part when Gaga talks about lady in red. I can also hear similar instruments. I actually really like it because it’s that familiarity but I don’t think it was done to the point where it needed a credit. Ziggy 11,038
It’s such a small sample, I like it. Like it’s not even the entire pre chorus just part of it. That’s nice
