oslo 245
I woke up once again spontaneously in the middle of the night to listen and watch 20 minutes after it was out. Love the aesthetic of the MV, very TFM/Fame perfume commercial, never thought I would see her go back to this vibe and it feels both nostalgic and like she never ceased to evolve in such dark ambiance for some reason. The song is very good, I especially love the bridge, the rhythm, the 90's vibe with the piano synth. I sort of less enjoy the chorus for some reason, but I think I just need to listen a bit more, in order for it to grow on me. The choreo is so good, it feels refreshing. To me, the song overall sounds like it's pure Gaga, it's what a lot of us were hoping for, it's a return to form and I'm even more hyped for the album to come out. Though, I remember feeling more shook and excited when I first listened to Disease, I love its more industrial sounds and growls, it feels darker than Abracadabra to me and it fits my vibe more. The MV as well. But very happy nonetheless of this new single and MV, it makes me hope for great things to unveil with Mayhem! Guest
Also, that video sent me into a Ratatouille flashback trance back to the good old days when kid me thought Alejandro, Fernando and Roberto were the most cursed (and gayest) names ever
AiDi 186
You can dislike the song WITHOUT quibbling over people who likes it. Really. Saying that people like it because they mindlessly like everything Gaga does, on a forum that literally shows that people criticise her over almost everything, is tone deaf. Plus, if Ava Max made that song, I would start liking her. This song has more substance than anything she ever put out. Again - you can dislike this song without this mumbo-jumbo "oh look how objective I am".

Je crois voir ce que tu veux dire, même si ça ne m'a pas sauté aux oreilles. Maintenant j'espère que je n'y penserais pas lors de mes prochaines écoutes (spoiler : si )

Dutch 90,426
It feels like Alice left Chromatica, danced her traumas away with ARTPOP, found the art of darkness with The Fame Monster, had sex with Born This Way and gave birth to Abracadabra.

Gorehound 4,512
I absolutely love it! It's so fresh yet so OG Gaga and she sounds amazing. I still love Disease more due to it's darker and grungier vibe but that's just my taste. If I were to be super knitpicky all I'd say is I'd wish the production was dirtier and grungier overall and they could've allowed all those big vocals to soar even more; but it's not necessary it still slaps! I'm shocked at how drastically different Abra is to Disease, so I guess Gaga meant it when she said this album is a total jumble of genres and styles, which makes me so excited cuz I personally love albums that are sonically multifaceted rather than everyones favourite word "cohesive".. I'm fine, Ta
Guest
Honestly, I listened to song again and it sounds really good. The music video is well-crafted, epic and I really like it – better than Disease. The song itself sounds really good. The verses and chorus aren't strong, but the operatic singing saves me and I'm getting excited about it! It may be simpler than Disease, but it's catchy. Rating 7/10.
Haldy 1,255
Absolutely love it. It doesn't top Disease, which is me #1 Lady Gaga song of all time, but this definitely makes me feel Mayhem's going to be ****ing EPIC. Every track so far has been a 10/10 balls-to-the-wall Gaga experience and we haven't even reached my favourite snippet yet (Notorious Being). 1
Guest
So, is the Siouxsie - Spellbound sample true? I've seen some people commenting about it but I can't hear it
TraeumereiLPB 390
Abracadabra slayed my entire day so far. Yes, I loved Disease from the first time I listened to it, still think it's a great song. But I found myself not listening to it anymore. Abracadabra, though... Instant BANGER. It's been on repeat for like 5 hours now, and I still can't get enough. The last time I was this obsessed with a Gaga song was probably when Aura leaked. Oh, and Babylon, that one was on repeat for days I can't imagine why Abracadabra wasn't chosen as the lead single, though. It's hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead.
