TinyGa 403
I’m an American who lived in Canada for a few years, I still have many friends there, and that there’s suddenly a trade war is mind boggling. There are so many everyday impacts on regular people on either side of the border. I know a lot of folks who work in the beverage industry including in red states and the tariffs and the downstream impacts for them could affect their livelihoods. Obviously there are many degrees of oppression and impact and not being able to buy your preferred alcohol is minor compared to what many are going through from this administration. Yet your local stores suddenly being completely different is jarring and I think it’s only one of many ways daily life is going to be impacted by this regime. I already know about 5 people who suddenly are losing their jobs due to other policies. And we’re only two weeks in.

They always been more expensive in Canada because of our supply management system. It has the advantage of more security when things go wrong (bird flu is affectjng our supply way less and prices rose less thab in US) but they are chronically higher to begin with The cheapest brands for a dozen eggs go for like $4 ($3USD) while free range or organic go for $6 or 7 (like $4.50 USD) about $4 to 6 usd maybe a dozen used to be maybe $2-4 but prices were already rising before Dumpy luckily California has its own giant agricultural industry so the prices aren't rising as drastically as places that dont
