It's fine to criticize the Islamic religion, as with any other religion, but anyone talking sh*t about Arab people or generalizing Muslims doesn't have a place here. That's an immediate ban tbh.

sorry for your experience. I'm a former atheist, currently spiritualist(?) who tries to acknowledge more about religions and spiritual practices in a more comprehensive way. I've grown interest in studying about many religions, including Islam, for being so ancient and carrying so much knowledge. It's hard for most people to separate the beliefs from the people who claim them, but I've been able to do so with Christianity and I've begun to read Psalms. I also intend in reading the Bhagavad Gita and look forward to study about Islam. Allahu akhbar.

Very, very true. I chalk a lot of that up to the media glossing it all over as "conflicts in the middle east that've been going on for centuries". For a long time that's all I heard in the US aside from when we were in active war. 

Maybe I just noticed the flare up of tension from the group I mentioned once everyone could point fingers at Palestine for retaliating against the apartheid state they've been forced to live under.

Yes Christian conservative are very Islamophobic, but their Islamophobia is expressed in a different way tha Ateists. Emilia Islamophobic tweets sounded to me like every criticism the atheist community have of Muslims. Also, most of the content online dedicated to being Anti Muslims mostly comes from the Atheist community.

I should not be used to these comments, but honestly I was not offended while reading these horrible Islamophoic tweets because im used to it, so I had to re read them to remind myself that its actually bad.

It feels sometimes like giving such people platform happens with a purpose. Like, even though Laverne Cox still has a hint of platform, the trans girls who are getting more of it are not specifically aligned with values that progressive people are fighting for. This btch, and Caitlyn Jenner, then Kim Petras... they just lack care.

My favorite subject is religion and I studied almost all religions. So ive engaged alot with the Atheist community and I learned alot from them. I have nothing against them, im just criticizing a specific kind of atheist. Just like how I love my Muslim community, but I have alot of criticism of Muslims and religious people.

Its been a while since ive seen comments like that as these subjects are not discussed much here anymore. But you know I never report anyone, id rather engage and debate instead of banning people lol

Yeah true, but for me it depends on the person. I wont report if they are just being ignorant and sloppy, and are willing to have a good faith argument. But if they are just being intentionally racist and hateful, ill report them.
