This cover was, ironically, cancelled because she started blowing up when it was released. According to The Midway State, her label couldn't afford to fund every single thing she was doing at the time since she was new, so this is one of the things that got axed. It's unfortunate because this probably would've made her be more respected at the time.

Haha i havent heard this song in like 15 years and forgot it existed

 

2009 to 2011 were the days with unreleased tracks. We only had a couple official Gaga releases and limited content and we were obsessed fans so we listened to all her unreleased tracks like crazy. Weve since payed them dust as a fan base

Omg how have I never heard this either. Her voice sounds incredible and the lyrics are so beautiful and affirming. My post concert depression is hitting pretty hard right now so this is exactly what I needed

Unreleased for good reason. Also, of all the unreleased songs, there’s only a few that I think warranted some form of release, and they were all deserving of being buried mid album filler at best (Brooklyn Nights, Princess Die, Future Love, Honest Eyes, We Could Be Lovers). The rest… terrible.

My dad and I like singing, and years ago he wanted to sing this song and asked me to check it to do the female part, and for some reason I also found Gaga's version. I was a recent fan and was still getting to know how to use the Internet/Youtube etc, so to this day I wonder how I even found it. Maybe I searched "Don't give up Lady Gaga" as a joke and was shook to discover that it actually existed.
