Back in August 2024, rumors swirled about Lady Gaga being in negotiations with The Sphere in Las Vegas for what could be her most ambitious residency yet. The proposal reportedly gave her full creative control to create something entirely new and groundbreaking, but it came with notable conditions. First, her seventh studio album, LG7, needed to be released before the residency’s debut. Second, she was expected to take a year-long break from live performances to build massive anticipation.

In addition to LG7, Gaga already has two confirmed major performances this spring to help push the album. She will headline Coachella in April, marking her return to the iconic festival after her 2017 headlining set. Following that, she’s set to perform an exclusive one-night concert in Rio this May, a show that to take place on Copacabana beach. These events alone would make for a monumental comeback, but they could also be part of a larger plan tied to her rumored residency.

 

Meanwhile, speculation about The Sphere has reignited. A Las Vegas insider recently revealed that The Sphere has already locked in a female headliner for 2025, and Gaga’s name among others continues to dominate the conversations. Considering the previously reported timeline ”An album release in February, her break from live performances throughout 2024, and her spring performances at Coachella and Copacabana” it all aligns with the idea of Gaga leading up to something monumental later in the year.

 

Fans have also noticed a pattern: the calculated quiet surrounding LG7 and her massive 2025 concerts could be a deliberate build-up for the residency. If Gaga does indeed sign with The Sphere, the residency would give her the opportunity to redefine live performance with the venue’s state-of-the-art technology, fully embracing her artistic vision without constraints.

I would only not be upset about this if she released a concert film of it. Otherwise it seems a bit of a let down to purposefully hold back from performing on award shows and such (where the absolute majority of fans can watch her perform online) only to do another particularly exclusive Vegas residency.

I don't think we've had any reliable confirmation that this is possible though. It's not quite worth worrying about yet.
