Gonna give it a full listen again in a couple minutes. I prayyyyy that I’ll grow to like it.

The first listen made me feel actually sick, it was genuinely painful to want to skip every single song after being so excited for the album. I expected to need more time with a couple songs but all of them??

The three singles are still 10/10 for me. But on my initial listen, my favorite new track was probably Killah and I’d give it a 4/10. 

I have to say her vocals sound AMAZING though, compared to Chromatica and Joanne.

As much as I love Randon Access Memory, I think that album (2013) really destroyed the music industry in a way no other album ever did before. I just can’t stand retro/70s-90s throwback music, I was already tired af in 2015 

Still love Gaga though, and I love to hear her artistic explanations and I still have Harlequin which I love, Folie À Deux will always be one of my favorite songs. ❤️

So which ones will be the Sine from Above & Plastic Doll aka the songs she won't perform live of this album? I think How Bad Do U Want Me (bc it seems to be the least favorite) and Zombieboy (bc she hates me, like she did with SFA)

How Bad Do U Want Me and Don't Call Tonight. I'd almost say Blade of Grass if it wasn't so personal to her.

Still pissed I wanted to listen from beginning to end and made myself sit through Disease and Abracadabra despite the anticipation for the new tracks. Only for AM to glitch and skip from Abracadabra to DWAS and me listening to the first 2 tracks for nothing.

It's a very good album, but I doubt it would be a 10 for everyone.

Why? Because it have something for everyone, dance, rock, had hitting stuff, ballads, 80's, etc. 

To me, it's a very like synth rock inspired 80s dance pop record, i liked it, better than chromatica and joanne, the best thing since born this way

It doesn't have skips for me.

My honest honest honest review:

Disease and Abracadabra are nothing like the rest of the album. It almost feels like we were deceived into thinking the first 2 singles were going to be an indication of what Mayhem would feel and sound like. I felt a strong disco/groovy/funk vibe with many of the tracks (probably too many tracks had this vibe… like I was almost getting tired of it?) And that’s not a bad thing at all! It was just not what I was expecting with the aesthetic of Mayhem, if that makes sense.

Also, I don’t like how she teased only the outro of Perfect Celebrity in Paris. She made me think the entire song was going to be like that 😭 which was a little disappointing.

But it’s a great album. I appreciate the fact that she’s experimenting with new sounds while also paying homage to old school pop. Some personal favorites of mine are Killah, Zombieboy and Shadow Of A Man.

I hope fans and gp will understand some day how good is Don’t Call Tonight. It should be actually the next single tbh
