The United States has the FICO score, along with a number of other similar systems, that actively exist to prevent people from meeting their basic needs, and y'all are here complaining about a fictional score from a country on the other side of the world that literally did nothing to you. 

Please realize these things are said so Americans remain oblivious to the fact that they are governed by some of the most exploitative and self-serving individuals in existence, and that any unfounded rumor about China and other "oriental scary countries" pales in comparison to the actual reality of the US.

It's not because of this that people are going there, it's because of the hypocrisy of the government banning tiktok but meanwhile twitter was basically used for election interference and facebook was found selling user information to that company who sold it to another country or whatever (I can't remember the specific )

Also there is community on tiktok that people are desperate to not lose and they don't want to support meta anymore (or twitter)

There's a trend currently going viral on TikTok about people saying goodbye to their "Chinese spies" and it's all this very heartfelt thing that is quite obviously a victory in the cultural sense for China, and they didn't even have to do anything, just sit quietly while the US makes mistake after mistake. Americans are saying they'd rather deliver their SSN to Xi Jinping personally than using one of Meta's products instead of TikTok. That is insane and a total blowback for the US.

I don’t want Tik Tok to be banned and I support any resistance to it. 

The hypocrisy disguised as national security concerns is hilarious. 

Meanwhile Elon and Mark are either using US data to further their agendas or selling it to the highest bidder.

 Xiaohongshu/Little Red Book/"Red Note" isn't the PRC equivalent of TikTok; it's more like Instagram. The PRC version of TikTok is Douyin. 

It cracks me up that the US government potentially banning an app owned by a Singaporean is causing US users to flee to a PRC app and start studying Mandarin. Totally backfired. 

There's a rumor that Elon is in talks to buy TikTok.  I'd take Xiaohongshu over anything Elon touches any day.

Why do so many people have beef with China 

like, Chinese democracy isn’t  much different than the USA. Except China actually tries to resolve their issues

The law isn't specifically a Tiktok ban, it's a ban on all apps owned by non-US entities operating in the US "unlawfully" until someone in the US buys the app. Tiktok is only mentioned as an example of said apps.

This can and probably will be banned just as easily because the law is left so intentionally vague.
