I was convinced Legends ZA would be out by April at the latest tbh. 

Surprised it's not due till August if the Amazon date is accurate. Felt like it was a guaranteed Day 1 title for Switch 2 given there's currently no other known Pokemon game coming for Switch 2 yet.

Whatever reason they have it’s to maximize revenue whether it’s to push more switch 1 product or give the shareholders the best outcome. Money will always be at the root of companies decisions

Honestly I reckon the main motivation is to avoid any potential shortages like the PS5 had. This is the first major console release besides the steamdeck since that period.

the ps5 had 5 months between the reveal and the release date and the only reason was lack of stock and lack of exclusive games, the only not cross gen game on launch were Astro's Playoom and Demon's Souls, the rest were cross gen like Miles Morales, Sackboy and Godfall.

Nintendo can do with 3 months or less of marketing, the word about a new switch is already out there and they are planning to have a big stock at launch depends on the market and a few launch games like Mario Kart 9.

The only risk would be to make Metroid Prime 4 as a launch title but they did with the OG Switch too when they release BoTW, which was risky, Zelda games were always a very niche titles.

Yeah, maybe they're pretty confident with the console and want to boost Metroid Beyond sales rather than the other way around, Idk. 

But I don't know why they haven't show the console yet, are they finishing up some title, seeing if its possibile to release day one? I think that they know that what made the Switch so successful was the strong first-year line-up. They need to secure that, even more if GTA VI doesn't get delayed to 2026. Bc I doubt the game will come for Switch 2, and even if it is, it won't be day one.

True, the launch will largely depend on the games tbh, much less the console itself bc I think people already know it’s going to be a better switch.

But if they only leave, like, one month for preorders, I wouldn’t be surprised if some people were pissed. But Nintendo is like that sometimes with their decisions, and sometimes it works

I'd wager we see Switch 2 in advance of Pokemon Day. So within the next few weeks.
And that beyond Legends ZA, we also get some new virtual console pokemon titles made exclusive to Switch 2 announced on Pokemon day.
