Jeff Bezos denies rumours of $600M wedding

A new report says billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos will marry his fiancée Lauren Sanchez next  Saturday in an extravagant $600 million wedding in Aspen, Colorado.

The pair, who got engaged in May 2023, will tie the knot next weekend in a winter wonderland-themed wedding after celebrating their impending nuptials at Matsuhia, a lavish sushi restaurant the couple reportedly bought out for Thursday and Friday.

Their nuptials will reportedly feature festive decor, twinkling lights, and holiday charm. 

Bezos, 60, and his fiancé, 54, have remained mum on their wedding plans and have not yet publicly confirmed their wedding date. source

Polarizing thing to think about, on one hand if you had the means wouldn’t you do everything you wanted for your wedding and on the other hand, there’s countless scenarios where that money could have made more impact. Not even on an individual person or something the media would love to write about, but something with his network of people he knows, he could have made a serious difference in the world and STILL have the luxurious lifestyle he’s entitled to. this is dystopian, the guy has a god complex, the 10,000-year clock clock, the space travel and he needs to spend 600m on a wedding because why not. 

Billionaires like him and musk are dangerous, elon already made that very clear when he made twitter his playground. And I don't see how this gets any better, these people are ever more powerful.

it really is terrible we let people get this rich.  Especially when all we have to do is be smart enough to vote better, but I digress.

 

The silver lining to this is that it's actually good when billionaires spend money.  The money goes into the economy and gets taxed and is infinitely more productive than just being hoarded.  

It would just be better if they couldn't get this rich in the first place because the wealth would get into the economy in probably better ways.
