Honestly, its too close to the election window now. 

Unless a leader comes in, rips up the existing platform and starts afresh the Liberals are toast. 

And tbh there's no realistic way any Liberal parliamentarian can take over and successfully run on a platform of "these policies i voted for multiple times over a decade are wrong and I'll do better".

We used to have budget surpluses now we have bigger and bigger budget deficits

 

Our life expectancy which used to be top 5 or 6 in the world fell 3 years in a row

 

Canada also has consistently dropped down the ranks of the Best Countries in world to live in. According to UN we ranked #1 from 1996 to 2002... then we fell to just top 5. Trudeau takes over, we fell to low top 10s and now were all the way down to top 20s

 

We used to be the ellite of the ellite. Now were just another random developed Nation. And since productivity keeps falling per worker, that trend is not reversing anytime soon

I guess the issue is theres no time. A proper procedure to select a new leader aparently takes 90+ days if it isnt rushed or streamlined

I think at this point the battle for the Liberals is not to win election but to loose as few seats as possible, maybe preventing a majority for Poilievre if possible

 

But unless an unforseen event turns the tide big time your right, they are toast and they are not going to win the election

Why do people no longer like Trudeau? I haven’t been following Canadian politics/economy news. When I moved to the UK in 2018, he was still quite popular. I can’t help but notice everything has skyrocketed in price every time I come back home though (about once a year).
