Basically at least half of Trudeaus Cabinet wants him to resign and so do many MPs saying they have no chance to win election with him in charge and that many Canadians claim they do not necessairily want Conservative Pierre Poilievre to be Prime Minister but they refuse to vote for Trudeau again.

 

In an interesting twist, the Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister who was just fired by Trudeau and wrote a public letter denouncing Trudeaus policies and costly political gimmicks has suddenly become a rising star favourite with multiple government members suggesting she is their top pick for the role

 

Crystia Freeland was also the Forein Affairs minister before rising to Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister. She also has an extensive resume in economics

The hardest part of this OP was the title cuz none of the titles I wanted to write fit the character limit

 

For example: "Calls For Trudeau To Resign Continue To Rise, Crystia Freeland Top Pick For Replacement"... I had like 4 variations of that I tried to fit in, and in the end chose this title

 

I keep wishing we could have at least 5 to 10 more characters but I know that was a hard no aparently

I dont think the situation is even fully comperable. Kamala at least had some chance and in the end got what? 46% to 47% of popular vote?

 

Polls suggest the Liberal have a near 0 chance of winning and Conservatives are nearly guaranteed a majority

 

The approval rating of the current Government is so low that it seems nearly guaranteed nothing they do will allow them to win

 

It also seems unlikely they will last until Fall of 2025 when elections are due. Jagmeet Singh (Leader of Left Wing NDP) is threatning a vote of non Confidence in the next 2-3 months which will trigger an early election

The NDP better not… the supply and confidence motion had such impact - I’m still in mourning. 

The best we can hope for is a conservative minority and I think that’s only possible with a fresh Liberal face.

I'm not Canadian but as a big classical liberal who has dealt with the Canadian Liberals a lot I'd much rather have a new Liberal leader than him. I mean, surely at this point it's either an overwhelming Pollievre majority if he stays on, or a fighting chance at preventing a Tory majority with a new leader.

All the polls I've seen say that the majority of Canadians don't want Pollievre, they just don't want Trudeau even more. With a new leader the Liberals could try and deny Pollievre a majority.

And hopefully a new face thats a better version of Liberal

 

Trudeaus policies of so much beaureocracy, ever increasing positions in Government that have made up too much of new jobs created and convoluted and inefficient regulation is never gonna help this Country and we have productivity and investment that just keeps falling and thus our standard of living

 

I prefer Liberals over Conservatives in the sense that its not just about the rich and the businesses and individuals matter and we get a more fair wealth distribution... But u can do that in ways that arent so inneficient and alianate businesses and start ups from even wanting to invest here. You also wont create wealth half the full time new jobs are just in government running beaureocracy

 

We have over 9 years now to prove his strategies arent working. Policies take time to work but nearly a decade should be enough time to start seeing results if his way of doing things was gonna work
