StarstruckIllusion 50,010
Journalist Ken Klippenstien has secured the full, short and sweet, manifesto of Luigi Mangione - the UnitedHealthcare CEO murderer, the one leaked by CNN via a snippet a few days ago. Here is a taste: ”Frankly, these parasites simply had it coming. A reminder: the US has the #1 most expensive healthcare system in the world, yet we rank roughly #42 in life expectancy. […] they continue to abuse our country for immense profit because the American public has allwed them to get away with it. […] It is not an issue of awareness at this point, but clearly power games at play. Evidently I am the first to face it with such brutal honesty.“ Source: https://www.kenklippenstein.com/p/luigis-manifesto - Thoughts?? LittleMonster20 9,788
This whole situation is so messed up, from every angle. I find the overwhelmingly lighthearted, comical reaction from people online the worst. There’s nothing humorous about this whatsoever. EDIT: I put ‘every angle’ in bold to highlight that part of my comment. It seems that a lot of people in this thread either accidentally or deliberately misinterpreted my comment as a way to dismiss the motives behind the murder, namely the state of the US healthcare system and its respective political issues. My comment is not and was never meant to be read as me merely prioritizing the death of the murdered CEO or the prosecution of Luigi Mangione, it was about me emphasizing how disturbing all elements involved are, combined with the - from my perspective - deeply inappropriate, widespread responses it garnered online. And personally it's a mechanism I find healthier than simply drowning in sadness, despair, and hopelessness. 5

Huh… It’s just disturbing and telling. One person (an awful one, but a human being nonetheless) was murdered, whilst the person (apparently) responsible for it (and judging by everything that came out about them today) and likely would have had a bright future ahead of them, will probably spend the rest of their life imprisoned. And all the while, judging by everything I’ve seen online about it (and it was a lot) are talking about his appearance (largely in a disgusting, degenerate oversexualized manner) and making light of the situation. Just horrible imo. But I’m sorry I guess. 2 1

Once you remember that - it seems silly to let online reactions bother you Anyway, let’s stream this brat fancam of Luigi 🙂↕️😌 https://x.com/dogvillc/status/1866503295092785569?s=46 6 1 2 3

Health care in the United States is beyond fuc*ked and it's all about profits. not saying what Luigi did was right ... but the response shows you just how disillusioned the whole country is and class consciousness is finally coming to a head. It isn't logical or sane, but the misery inflicted by the oligarchy that America has become is causing an array of coping mechanisms manifested online. Is it any wonder why complicated problems don't get resolved? No critical thinking to real solutions or coordinated efforts to solve them. Just endless distractions in a world that resembles the one Aldous Huxley alluded to in his "Brave New World." Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people. -Carl Jung

It's clearly the latter for most people thirsting over him. They're not looking at the facts at all. They're just blinded by how attractive he looks. 1
Chromatography 10,006
I mean, are these snippets wrong? I saw something online that said the people in power pit the working class against each other to keep them down, and honestly they’re not wrong. We let these people get away with it 4 1

Medicare for All being murdered by shitty Dems is stale tea. Hell would freeze over before Trump’s Republicans would fix anything, and 90% of US politicians are corrupt by Big Pharma… Like… this is all baked in. We know this. Memes are sadly all people have left, for now. 2

I wouldn't have minded if the defence for him was rooted in real, nuanced analysis but just take a look at the other Luigi threads, you'll find that gays thirsting over him are only thinking with their d1cks and not their brains. The comedy we've observed isn't even intelligent comedy, it's cheap. Edited December 10, 2024 by Bradley 1
