Ivy 11,667
I don't think it's weird she's religious, tons of people are, but I do think it's weird she's advertising a pay to pray app
skaxboy 4,530
She wore the Virgen De Guadalupe shirt, of course she’s a Christian! No Doubt covered “Oi to the world” and one of the lines goes “And God came down on Christmas Day.” Sarcasm aside, I adore Gwen. I know she’s a Christian and that’s no issue with me. I know people get a little more into their religion as they get older. My only issue is pandering to the fake Christians who generally listen to country music. The ones that leave the most ignorant comments yet have the cross emoji and some Bible verse on their bio. Like, girl, those people didn’t go to your Las Vegas residency even buy Bouquet! A few year ago, when Instagram allowed you to see the activity of the people you follow, Gwen “liked” someone’s comment that said “Hopefully republican.” I screen shot it because I couldn’t believe it. I have my faith but I have a problem with fake Christians who use God’s name for their own benefit. Televangelists and plenty of right wingers say and do horrible things in the world yet try and make themselves feel righteous by wearing a crucifix necklace or mentioning God. 3

Why are you so bothered by what OP posted? The app “hallowapp” follows right winger Tucker Carlson, the Fox & Friends account from Fox News, and plenty of other right wing influencers. I’m generalizing but most of us on here are allies or members of certain segmented groups that right wingers do not approve of. You’re right, it’s not “hurting” anyone at all, but the goal of these nutjobs is to hurt certain people. If OP had an issue with religion and faith, then why would they be on a forum of woman who sings “cuz God makes no mistakes” or “Three men ima serve on my whole life, it’s my daddy and Nebraska and Jesus Christ.” Christ and being spirituality isn’t the problem here, it’s Gwen using her name to promote some pray-for-pay app that no doubt amplifies the vile right wing narrative, all because they gave her a few coins she doesn’t need. 1 1

Maybe if we start opening new threads with an initial opinion of our owns we wouldn’t be running in these misconceptions.. more so a general statement, but lately there are so many new threads on this side with only one news article quote or some random as‘ link with a clickbait title. Thanks for your explanation tho, I see where her post could be viewed in a different light. lastpopicon 4,204
I can't help but to roll my eyes tbh, when you dissect most religions, it's all based of non-sense, this goes to any religion, so I'm not really picking Christians apart here. I realize that this might be a hot take, and I hope I don't upset religious people, if you had to know, I'm not atheist, I feel like that would be a bit too arrogant from my part, if we look at the universe itself and at the miracle of life i feel like there's got to be something above us, some greater force at play, but i do not think that mighty force is told on books written by men, books that oppress the human being, books that promote violence and division, idk, for me it doesn't make any damn sense to me. OT: Promoting a prayer app is not a good look The melody that you choose can rescue you 1 1

She’s a Christian. So what. That’s her choice. She has a faith and a religion. Some people are religious, some are not. Yall are rediculous on this site with double standards, and this is pretty offensive to be honest. Saying something is “concerning” because it is Christian is not ok. How is criticizing a religion offensive? and who cares if there are people of faith here? were allowed to criticize ideologies. Im religious by the way.. 10 hours ago, VTV said: concerning? whatever happened to free speech and tolerance?
