bionic 50,111
ParisCNN — French Prime Minister Michel Barnier has been forced to resign just three months into his term, after lawmakers on the left and the right united to support a no-confidence motion and plunge the country into deeper political instability. A total of 331 out of 577 lawmakers voted against Barnier’s fragile government, seizing their opportunity to topple the veteran politician – and renowned negotiator – after his attempt to ram through part of his government’s annual budget on Monday. https://edition.cnn.com/2024/12/04/europe/france-no-confidence-vote-barnier-crisis-intl/index.html

Lucas 31,126
*Pretends to be shocked". Another government slowly falling apart... The left won a few months ago which means that Macron was supposed to have a prime minister chosen by the left but he decided to ignore what french people voted for and have a prime minister from his own party. I'm sure that someone from the extreme right will become prime minister now, even if a lot of people from this party are currently under investigation for stealing public money from Europe I'm so happy I left this crap country tbh. I'm never returning to this flop ass country where 12M people voted for a nazi party

The only thing worse than Macron is extreme right. By the way the current french extreme right party was literally created by a SS Nazi and all of them are currently highly supportive of Trump and Marine Le Pen for example is a big fan of Hitler. Mister G 10,512
What is going on? We are seriously witnessing some sort of renaissance where governments are finally either on the brink of collapsing or being dismantled and rebooted out of much necessity. These elected officials are entering their FAFO eras and we love to see it.

LOVEDRUG 11,266
French politics is a mess right now. Putin-sympathisers and antisemites on both the far left and far right, dysfunctional conservatives-in-disguise in the centre. Hard to see how a good outcome can come out of this.
