Let's not forget that Hillary Clinton empowered & pushed Trump and sabotaged Sanders

Politicians go where the votes are and the left has proven to be an extremely unreliable, fickle and emotional group of purists.

Apparently working across the aisle is not where the votes are.

protesting a genocide is what any sane person should do. Once again, DNC is failing to understand where they lost and blame shifting again

COME ON GAYS!!

The left spends so much time trying to tear down people they effectively agree with most of the time while flailing when it comes to actually fighting against the people that need to be fought against.

THIS EXACTLY.

Now is the time to be building bridges and finding community with everyone against the kind of administration that was just elected. We have to do that if we have literally any chance of taking power back from them in the next decade.  Can we start doing that instead of finding more witches among us to burn? Instead of debating whether the racism or sexism are worth acknowledging this time?

This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.

It's true. The establishment democrats created Trump and refuse to take any responsibility.

And a side note: we need to get ranked choice voting approved in more places so people can feel empowered to vote for who they like the most, instead of for whoever is the 'lesser of two evils'.

I don't think it matters right now, Hillary did what she did back then, we are 8 years later. Trump didn't shift the politics towards the far right, America did the shift itself, if it wasn't for Trump another one with similar ideas would have won.

If you look at it from a wider perspective, many democratic countries are shifting (far) right as well, look at the elections in German landers, or French regionals, or The Netherlands, or Sweden..

There's clearly something that we are misreading, and we've gotta find out what it is if we are to not let die our progressive values.

I didn't ask for a free ride, I only asked you to show me a real good time.

What is it that we are misreading ? Possibly we are underestimating, even though we all know it's there, the effect of the blizzard of lies being pumped out by right wing media. I am not a US citizen, but I think I am right in saying that a huge number of people in the US get their news from Fox, Newsmax and various right-wing podcasters. That would go a long way towards explaining why they vote the way they do.

This isn’t the time for democrat infighting.

We need a united front to fight what’s in front of us. Nothing good will come from pointing fingers & blaming Hillary Clinton (???) for the US electing a racist.

I dont want to get into what ifs and all that, but a big part of the reason trump won is also because people didnt take him seriously. A lot of people stayed home and didnt vote thinking there was no way he would win. And the democrats were complacent, thinking Hillary was a shoe in. If an establishement republican ran woth those ideas, the reaction may have been very different. Also one of the big appeal point for trump was that hebwas an outsider and was gonna drain the swamp in washington.

Why do people keep repeating this line about “infighting” and “disunity?” We’re regular people talking about insanely rich politicians (who don’t care about us and just handed the government over to Trump for a second time) on an online forum.

There’s no “united front” with a corporate party that just alienated tens of millions of previous Democratic voters by campaigning with Republican war criminals on a right-wing platform that would’ve made our lives worse, and by “fight what’s in front of us” you mean posting on a Lady Gaga forum and Twitter about how Trump is evil, which everyone’s been doing for a decade. It accomplishes nothing.

This is the exact right time to be pointing out that corporate, right-wing Democratic leadership has failed spectacularly and that the next nominee needs to be a genuine left-winger who actually runs on popular policies that appeal to (and HELP) working people. If no one ever engages in any self-reflection and just goes along with the “Dems good, Republicans bad” sports team mentality, JD Vance will be president in 2028. This isn’t a game.

Yes and im not even trying to defend American voters, but if you want to win this fight, you need to understand why you failed, and why people are not voting for you.

As for Kamala, I do think she did a really amazing job which was not expected, even though I dont like her as a polotician.

Alexandria Cortez is a little too far left for me but she definitely seems to get it.  Even if it's things she's not going to want to hear at all I do like her ideas.

I say gave her power in the DNC but unlikely to happen.

The one time the Democrats were able to beat Trump in 2020 the whole party was all in on Biden.  Even if he didn't really excite to many people.  2016 and most especially 2024 were sh1t shows the Democrats put on.

Every election the Republicans are all in on Trump.  Except for a few notable people like Mitt Romney but he retired from politics.
