Jumping on Ed Sheeran after Shape of You. Getting Miley Cyrus after Flowers smash. - Rihanna uncountable numbers of hit collabs with trendy artists (Coldplay, Nicki Minaj, Eminem, David Guetta, Jay Z, more and more) - Britney Spears (Will.i.am, Madonna, Rihanna remix, Iggy Azalea, G-Easy, Elton after Cold Heart smash) - Ariana and her uncountable The Weeknd remixes and trendy collabs (Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Zedd, Doja). - Taylor Swift going on Post Malone for her latest album lead single. Should I carry on ? Get them sis! I wish there is a counter argument being published in defense of Gaga.

HookerDotGov 527
This is not related to Gaga, she is just the latest victim. I am really tired of these entertainment magazines/media hiring people who either are "stans" or lean into "stan culture". Solo hit means nothing outside of stan twitter. Gaga has had solo hits since 2013. The musical landscape has changed though...songs that get hundreds of millions of streams can peak lower on charts. What is the litmus of a hit these days? Radio play? Streams? Part of a cultural phenomena? This writer could go into that rather than some lame article that reads like it's the 13th comment of a Pop Crave tweet about Gaga's chart debut.

She looks different now if you know what I mean. And also she was teasing the look from the mv in white dress back in June/july? Or something. StrawberryBlond 13,982
I worry the same thing myself. And I know it's completely normal and accepted for popstars to jump on the latest trendy name for a collab for every album but Gaga's always been different in that respect. Just before she put out BTW, she said it had no collabs because, even though she wasn't against them, "I just feel that, as a solo artist, for the most part, you should stand on your own two feet." And I've always loved that about her. We've all had that feeling when our fave collabs with a name we don't like but feel we should support them to make them successful. But with Gaga, she gives us just her the majority of the time. It puts her talent front and centre and we don't have to ponder if it was her who even made the song successful. I knew articles like this would abound but it could be so much worse. Some artists not only can't sell a solo single, they can't sell a solo album or a solo tour. Even when Gaga's "flopping," she's can still push an album with decent numbers at the top of the charts and a tour grossing $100million and more. So, as long as she still gets hits, I'm not as bothered by how many of them are solo. But would I like her to have a big solo hit, a la Pokerface or Bad Romance? Of course. And if Beyonce, who's 43, can still have a big solo hit after 14 years since her last one (her last solo #1 was Single Ladies in 2008 all the way until Break My Soul in 2022 and then Texas Hold Em this year), then Gaga is certainly capable of it. I still think she can do it and want her to.

Think of all the artists who release songs with features in hopes of better chart positions. Jeesh. Let's get just as critical of everyone else for doing the same, please. At least Gaga insists on working in the same goddamn room with her features. I agree with you I just noticed some folks starting to begin getting away from the point a bit lol I’m not really critical of it. Tbh Gaga is a legacy act at this point for the current youngest generation of consumers. Shes not getting those runaway solo #1s that girls like Sabrina Carpenter will bc they’re in the spot Gaga was in 15 years ago. It’s just the way of things and that’s fine lol it’s not like Gaga isn’t making music or isn’t insanely successful. I mean Bruno probably needed Gaga for this single too. Like c'mon She obviously can make a hit. I think theyre forcing a narrative on an aspect that i think Is true. Gaga has Lost a bit of her charisma , It kinda comes and goes. That confidence and drive. For example at kamala rally She was almost seemed shy. Gaga..shy, even Happy mistake performance Shes slaying but a bit singing for herself. And Shes very much secluded from social media or even outings for celebrities. I feel like Shes not really ready inside for the exposure of a mega hit again. Honestly That’s possible! She also just doesn’t need the hit anymore lol the tricky thing is I think Gaga needs promo to go #1 but someone like beyonce doesn’t and so she doesn’t need to be “internally ready” the same way Gaga does. So to your point it just takes more out of her to be so outside.

Just the way of things when you’ve been around a minute Hi, @Ziggy! I'm sorry that my reply sounded directed toward you. That was not my intent at all--I was in agreement with you and meant to direct my comments toward the article's author, but I didn't make that very clear. Now that I read my comment again a few days later, I can see how it's confusing. Thanks for being cool about it! "The truth is..." --L.
