As it is, without the video, it feels a bit stripped down. There's something about the phrasing of the opening verses, a certain repetitive cadence that reminds me of Perfect Illusion. I feel like it works better as a rock song than this hybrid with electronic/dance elements. I find their addition feels a bit disingenuous and unnecessary, especially since they sound somewhat generic and Kim Petras-esque. I would have liked something more refined. The ending is very good. I edit to not be so bitter lol: the vocal delivery and production is AMAZING. Anyway, I insist that I would have preferred a base more inspired by INXS, or Depeche Mode.... Something more "interesting". I'm referring specifically to the moments when the "industrial" base is heard without the vocals (at the beginning and just after the first chorus). There's something addictive about the song, you want to listen to it again and again. Live, it's going to catch fire.
