Joker: Folie À Deux (Director’s Cut)

Genuine question: Does anyone think there is a slight possibility we might get an extended/alternate cut? The original film does not, however, the sequel already has negative reviews, with many saying Lee should’ve had more screen time/character development. I attended an early screening Monday night and I enjoyed it, but I can understand why many people would be disappointed. After the unprecedented success of the first film, do any of u guys think Todd might actually release an alternate cut of the sequel to save his image and the film’s legacy? (I think it would be a smart move).

 

-Side note: Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure I read somewhere around a year ago that multiple endings were filmed.

I would love seeing alternate endings and having an extended cut especially if they filmed more songs. I had heard a rumor that one of the songs that was filmed didn’t make it into the film.

To be fair, I like this cut of Lee's character a lot already. A longer cut with more Harley isn't necessary. Like, the scenes people were pointing out really wouldn't have added much to the film. I like that she's sort of an enigma.

But maybe if they do a physical release someday it would be nice to see some deleted stuff.

I don't think there's salvation even with extra scenes of her lol I don't think they created her character as crazy as she should have been

Yeah... I agree and it's a shame. There are many interesting things about her character but they didn't do much with that. I'll just dream about what could've been and maybe someone can do it with AI   at least some drafts

I think people may be living in false pretension about what was lost on the cutting room floor. Todd has been open about his lack of interest in making a sequel in the first place (I presume a hefty cheque by WB made him change his mind) so the lazy writing probably comes down to that and Joaquin filmed for a whole month before she turned up on set. Sadly her role was probably never considered as a 50/50 to Joaquin's role. And even if I'm wrong, a directors cut would only be interesting to us, the problems of the movie lie far deeper than how much Gaga is in it.

Is her killing the joker herself and not that random inmate. I would at least like to see that perspective. I can maybe see why they didn’t do it, people are mad in general he got killed like that and can you imagine the hate Gaga would get if her character killed him? I don’t know, I would think it’s more interesting but some have said that would be worse.
