Are these songs alike

So went down the nostalgic rabbid hole and found this gem again. Can't believe it didn't take off in the US that well, its such a great song and should have been a smash hit, the video is also great and michelle looked amazing. But am I crazy for thinking its also very similar to thus cult classic

I see it. I think it's just how they sing, they have the same sort of tone or cadence, I guess.

I think the tempo is similar and also the production break the dawn is electro R&B afterall and @TwistedTeeth is also very right about how they sing too

Now that I think of it, it’s the way that they sing. I wouldn’t say that they’re sisters though, more like cousins twice removed.
