To think she wasted a decade of her legacy, youth and artistry. Poof just like that. 

She didn’t and doesn’t regret it rn but trust me she will.

Let’s be real music was always a cash in for, her and her team literally put out an album every year, once they realized Fenty Beauty was a bigger cash cow there was no need for all that work and touring when you can earn 10x more by selling products at Sephora. 

But she is talented and I don’t think she appreciated that enough to even explore her artistry. We make fun of Katy for having a discography full of basic pop songs but aside from ANTi the same thing can be said for Rihanna. 7 of her albums sound outdated af with the exception of a few singles. Even if she puts out 1-3 records in the next decade, I don’t think she’ll be able to build a legacy for herself based on music alone. Other pop artists will be better points of reference and considered “classics” before Rihanna comes to mind.

I agree it's a crying shame cuz ANTI really was that b*tch! Imo at least. It goes to show how cool she could be if she went more alternative and explored her musical potential outside of generic pop hits. And I love her voice as a recording artist and love her style. But in the end of the day it's her life and she's living it the way she wants. 

Maybe that relentless lifestyle of album, tour, album, tour for the first decade of her career got too much and became tedious. So I don't blame her there. But I have a gut feeling she'll be back with a new album eventually.

I get that but she can also just put out music with no promo or tour at all and we’d appreciate it over nothing tbh.

Since this is in a VIP room in a stadium I would assume they were there with her during the game and know her. Maybe kids of someone from her team or of her friends who were with her.

The plain fact is that the younger generation are fast forgetting her, seeing as she was only around for a brief part of their lives. For anyone under the age of 21, they'll just know her as 'the make up lady,' in the same way that they regard Mariah to be 'the Christmas lady' (as I once heard a GGD member put it). Anyone aged 8 and younger will have no clue who she is. It's still crazy to me how she's all but given up music. Yes, make up earns her more money and it's not as hard work but the feelings she got from being a singer...being a make up mogul just doesn't compare. The thrill from performing, seeing your songs climb up the charts, hearing a stadium of fans chanting your name...those feelings don't just go away.

But to be honest, I think she's looking from afar at all these female singers trying to make a comeback and only having one decent hit (Beyonce, Ariana), underperforming compared to previous eras (Dua, Billie) or flat-out failing (J-Lo, Camila, Katy) and she's getting nervous that she can't pull this off. Sabrina Carpenter's the only female who's truly slaying right now. Even Taylor, who's the biggest name in the world, has only managed to pull off a very short-lived #1 from her current era. Rihanna's never even released an album in her 30's, so this is unchartered territory for her. She might have genuinely thought about doing this but then saw the current state of things and got cold feet.

getting into her career she had a very stressful one, just her beginnings are blurry and honestly it’s worrying the way she got signed and brought alone to the US as an underage

Def Jam never abandoned the idea of dropping her until Loud, the whole Chris Brown incident, recording, performing, promoting and touring an album every year 

the many changes and messy release of anti is probably what makes her doubt so much, rethink and redo so many times this new album
