I had no idea who sung it, only that I liked it and it sounded really different and fresh. Fast forward to the 2009 VMA’s, I think it was when the promos started for Gaga’s big performance, with clips from the Paparazzi video, and I remember feeling so drawn to the screen. Just Dance was being played on the radio and then I went on her official website and watched the Pokerface video and I was hooked. June 2008, she was the closing performer for SF Pride. My friend and I were really close to the stage because I wanted to see Kat Deluna. The hostess of the event kept saying in between acts “You definitely don’t want to miss this new comer ‘Lady Gaga’” and my friend I were like wtf kind of name is that!? One of my friends was performing in a dance crew on a different stage at the same time so we decided to go see him instead.
