Believe it or not, I like Lady Gaga. I also know she talks out of her ass a lot. Still love the song. Will keep going in circles with you if you want The real Jessica Fletcher would have gotten to the truth. we’ll just have to agree to disagree. 😘

She was the one who fueled the fire (a rumor) after someone else lit it for her (started it). The only people who said anything about a NSFW lyric were one or two radio stations. ⚠️There was never a "f*ck her face" lyric in the studio⚠️ That didn't become a thing until she realized she could use that idea as further hype for the song. The only theorists are the people who think otherwise Lol Weird hill to die on, but go off ig

Full stop. Haha -A lot of people believed the lie (some little monsters thought/think EVERYTHING Gaga does is intentional/genius) and the rest is legend She is good at marketing, but THIS was a dumb lie and (again) I think it cheapens the song But that’s just my two cents As someone who was a fan during The Fame days, this is almost certainly true. I don't think people realise how willing Gaga was to latch on to every single possible slice of controversy she could get during those early days, all in the name of garnering as much media attention as possible. For those who don't believe it, I gathered some of the receipts: The lyrics in the album booklet: https://issuu.com/salehalsaleh1/docs/digital_booklet_-_the_fame The earliest live performance we have of Poker Face, from the Miss Sixty show on June 26 2008 (the Fame wasn't released until August 19 and Poker Face didn't become a single until September) where she is clearly singing 'poker face' (@3:48): Or you can judge it for yourself listening to the isolated vocal stems from the released track, where you can clearly hear that she's singing 'poker face' (@26:40):

Gaga only "changed" it (aka claimed it was that way the entire time) to create controversy/bring renewed attention to the song. To me, this is one of the funniest/most annoying inconsistencies/fibs in Stefani's career. She is not saying "f*ck her face," & NOTHING will ever change my mind about that. Fight me! F*ck my face!!! 😉 lol Still one of the most addictive songs ever though not as catchy as Just Dance Nah man she was all about word-play back then. She knew what she was doing. Even if officially she's saying "Poke", she pronounces it "Puck" -er face". So it's definitely insinuating the F bomb. Same with "don't think too much just bust that kick" - there she's clearly insinuating "bust that d*ck" She was sneaking in uncensored half-swears or suggested swears all over the radio back then. Lol Pokerface and Love Game are about SEX and have always been intentionally explicit and trashy - "bluffin with my muffin / got my ass squeezed by sexy cupid / educated in sex yes / wanna take a ride on your disco stick" etc. She spent a long time meticulously crafting those songs, so don't you think that during that process either her or her producers never once thought "oh, it sounds like you're saying "f*ck" here, or "bust that d*ck" or the way you pronounce "I'll get him hot" sounds like you're saying "I'll get him hard"? - It's obvious that this is intentional wordplay to trick the listener into thinking she's cussing even when she isn't. She'd have to be pretty dumb otherwise if this was all by accident. I think you're just being a prude Miss Fletch Edited June 19 by Gorehound I'm fine, Ta

I think you're just being a prude Miss Fletch “Cheapens” was the wrong word. “Unnecessary” was the word I should have chosen; an unnecessary white lie-- a marketing tactic for a song that was already hot/sexy. It was like adding another dollop of sugary frosting onto an already sugary cupcake. It WAS an accident, but I don’t think she’s dumb. I think she was smart to take advantage of it. She didn’t write it that way in the studio, she fibbed about it to refuel media attention/benefit her/her song, & I will go to my grave believing that (having been sent to my grave by one of you ladies, most likely) 😜💚 Not a prude (love poking faces lol), merely perceptive 🔍👵🏼😉 1 hour ago, GagaGame said: Wrong, wrong and wrong I am right, right, right with my hands above my head, head, head 2 hours ago, Vaporwave said: As someone who was a fan during The Fame days, this is almost certainly true.
