They do sound similar. She also wrote the Posh Life demo for TLC during the BTW era.

I can sorta hear the similarities but you really have to listen closely. I think the songs would be good for a mash up.

Actuallt it instantly popped into my head the first time I ever listened to it back when it dropped. Probably because Waterfalls was huge growing up.

First time I heard BTW I was so confused, the sound was so different than what I expected. I didn't instantly love it

I remember there being a video of every song Born This Way sounded like... it was not a good time for ol' Gags. 

I love BTW but the similarities to M*donna and the cringey lyrics (chola descent, orient made)... I wonder, was it all worth it?
