Chaymie 846 Posted February 28, 2024 Share Posted February 28, 2024 I will always remember waking up so early to watch this live on TV (Asian timezone) was kinda still sleepy throughout the show but her performance just jolted me up. The way I made an audible gasp out loud at the first note she sang. :') It kinda almost mirrored a Susan Boyle audition moment in a small way. You can hear the kinda confused giggle/ unsure laughter from the crowd when her name was announced before the performance. Then boom, skip to the end and everyone's on their feet! LEGEND! She was so impressed with her singing after having watched this performance the night before. She said that she could ‘really sing’, just like she used to remember singers being able to do. She did every tribute performance under the sun during those few years, transitioned into acting and made the best decisions possible with that too. She’s a living legend and that EGOT IS COMING!!! No she was snubbed for HoG bc the movie was widely panned lol very rarely does a performance get much recognition if the movie isn’t deemed quality itself. In HoG’s case, it was kind of all over the place and a mess so regardless of her performance, it was never going to be given proper attention. Plus, after the huuuuge push she’d had with ASIB, I think the academy wasn’t super inclined to give her much of anything this time around.
