Lucas 23,972
This got me curious to know how people define "ahead of its time" when it comes to albums/music... The only Gaga album I would consider ahead of its time is Born This Way, through its acceptance message that became a major topic of discussion in the years after the release of the album, and through the music spawning hits even 10+ years after the release.

The tracks I listed + Grigio Girls (forgot about her) are all pretty country forward in terms of instrument choices and soundscape IMO Ooh southern king I’m a Carolina boy, but I love the Appalachians.
Mean Winchester 408
Yes, for me, it's her best album.
Auther 22,063
No, it was not ahead of its time - but it is in her top 3 albums. Dancing in Circles and John Wayne are not gems, I am afraid to say. Truly some of her worst songs... Edited February 13 by Agunimon

It’s like Madonna’s look ombré cover of “Music” is FULL cowboy and she even made a cowboy themed video (Don’t Tell Me) but the cover art did not make it a country album. Julien Lockhart 810
No, the difference between Gaga and Bey is that Joanne is polished, it's not full country or rock Interscope wanted to polish the album, making it more popish Beyoncé is going full country/blues with her album And that's my problem with Joanne, she was not allowed to go hard in the influences and that's why I'm worried about LG7 if it's rock or metal, it will have some little influences here and there but nothing really deep I prefer her to go in the full thing like doing something like Rammstein or Metallica and not in an Olivia Rodrigo way Edited February 13 by Julien Lockhart He ate my heart
Gorehound 3,648
No I don't think so. Country music has always and always will be popular in the USA. And genres come in and out of vogue all the time. I hate to say but Joanne was arguably made in defeat of ARTPOP to help boost her public image, as well as a way to help find herself again. It's very safe and lukewarm. Plus it isn't full country, it was more of an aesthetic to dress the album in to make it more pleasing to the US GP imo. I'm fine, Ta

Nathaniel Arven 1,594
not ahead of it's times but underrated. Same for chromatica. She always brings her unique twist to the sonic palette to take the genre she delves in into her own universe.
